Our History
Since its formation some 70 years ago, the Evans Property Group has become established as one of the UK's largest and most successful property investment and development companies. Originally founded by the late Fred Evans OBE, the Company has very much been a family orientated business.
It was initially floated in 1971 with assets of less than £8m and a rent roll of around £700,000 p.a. During its quotation the business reported increased profits each and every year and dividend growth of 10% p.a. This was an enviable record matched by few companies in the public sector.
The Evans family increased their share holdings in 1999 and de-listed Evans of Leeds Plc from the London Stock Exchange ending 28 years of public quotation. Since taking the business private its net asset value has increased significantly.
In 2006 the Group undertook a significant reorganisation as a result of which a new Jersey based company, Drachs Investments No3 Ltd became the parent undertaking.
In September 2007 the group disposed of a £400 million portfolio of properties for a consideration comprising cash and assumption of debt.
The Group today has a strong portfolio of Grade A investment properties plus an exciting portfolio of development opportunites.
